So… last night was excellent. Tuesday Night Hang Out Night, part deux. It was just Roy and I until about 10 pm when the Michaels arrived with their pensive punk friend Dan.

Back in the day we had this motto about “making new weirdness.”

The two Michaels live by these words. They bathe in them. Loudly. Hysterically. It was at once refreshing and affronting. The absolute brutality with which they enjoyed themselves — laughing, mocking, funny-facing — pummeled your senses and left you dizzy with carousal.

Danielle stopped by on a whim. Just a spot of wine, and then she must leave, really. Well, perhaps just a spot more. We were magnanimous. She was absolutely giddy, shaking and giggling violently about some Cathedral in Italy, the people in Ireland, or some bit of music Roy had on.

Colleen came by as well, perhaps a little overwhelmed at first by the two Michaels. I can’t blame her, but after a bit she settled into a conversation with the generally unflappable, Dan.

I fled at midnight, my toes already turning orange, tired and tipsy on Rhine and crazed grins.
